Burnsall Trail Half
The Burnsall Trail Half is the first race in the Due North Trail Race Series, held at the riverside car park field in Burnsall village (BD23 6BU) on 17 April 2027. The event has a minimum age of 17. Entry fees listed are £40 for UKA/TRA affiliated runners and £42 for unaffiliated runners; a discount of up to £10 per entry is available for entering three or more events in the series. The course uses several sections of the Dales Way footpath and includes around 500 m of ascent. Terrain includes riverside paths, stone tracks and open fields, with climbs that provide 360 degree views of the Yorkshire Dales. The course is partially way marked. Drinks stations will offer water and juice, and a post-race meal such as pie or soup is included. Due North merchandise and sponsor goodies are also provided. A toilet block is located at the top of the car park.
The venue is beside the Red Lion pub and the nearby bridge. Free car parking is provided for runners in the race field; spectators are asked not to bring cars into the race field or to park on narrow roads. Walkers and spectators can view parts of the course from Appletreewick or along the Dales Way footpath towards Howgill.
Minimum kit requirements include a waterproof jacket with hood, hat and gloves, a cup or bottle for drinks, and a mobile phone with the race number stored and a location app such as OS Locate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
