Burnsall Trail Half

The Burnsall Trail Half is the first race in the Due North Race Series, located in the village of Burnsall within the Yorkshire Dales. The course follows several sections of the Dales Way footpath and includes approximately 500m of ascent. Participants encounter a variety of terrain throughout the route, including riverside paths, stone tracks, and open fields. Reaching the higher points of the course provides 360-degree views of the surrounding Dales.

The event entry includes a partially way-marked course and drinks stations stocked with water and juice. Following the run, participants receive a meal, such as pie or soup, a bottle of beer, and event merchandise. On-site facilities include free car parking at the Riverside Car Park Field and a toilet block near the start and finish area.

Strict safety requirements are in place for all runners. Participants must carry a waterproof jacket with a hood, a hat, gloves, a mobile phone with a location app installed, and their own cup or bottle, as no cups are provided at the water stations.

The event is open to individuals aged 17 and older. Results are categorized with prizes for the top three male and female finishers, as well as age category winners from V40 through V70. Spectators are permitted at the start/finish area and are encouraged to view the race from locations such as Appletreewick or the Dales Way footpath toward Howgill. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
