Burney Mountain 100 - June 19, 2026
The Burney Mountain 100 is a 100 mile looped endurance run that starts and finishes at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch in Cassel, California. The route travels through Lassen National Forest and the Thousand Lakes Wilderness and passes through the Burney Basin.
The course has an approximate elevation gain of 14,000 feet, with lowest elevations near 3,000 ft and highs near 8,600 ft. Terrain includes approximately 39 miles of singletrack, 11 miles of rail trail on crushed cinder, about 54 miles of forest road, and small pavement sections near Highway 89 and the Goose Valley aid station. The singletrack occurs in three sections - beginning, middle, and end - and the route is mostly runnable with some technical stretches.
Trail work is not required for 2026. Beginning in 2027, 8 hours of trail work will be required to participate. For 2026 there is an incentive for participants who complete 8 hours of trail work before race day.
Event services at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch include free dry camping for runners and crew on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights provided by Intermountain Endurance. The ranch offers lodging upgrades for a fee and runners receive a $25 discount on upgrades.
