2026 Burke Lake Christmas Eve 5k and 10k
This event offers chip timed runs on a course that combines paved road and trail around Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, VA. The trail section is fairly well maintained, includes some roots, and has no major elevation gains. The first and last half mile of both races are on paved roads.
Distances
- 5k
- 10k
Points from the races count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and also count toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person. Walkers are welcome.
Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before December 9; extra shirts may be available later on a first come, first served basis. Race day registration and packet pickup are available at the event; organizers recommend arriving about one hour before the race to check in.
Water stations are placed along the courses: two on the 5k at about miles 0.5 and 2.6, and three on the 10k at about miles 0.5, 3.1 and 5.7. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Live results are posted online and via a QR code at the race; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and first and second in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
