Burien Brat Trot
Burien Brat Trot is a community fun run organized by the Highline Schools Foundation that has run for over sixteen years. The event raises funds to support basic needs, equitable and innovative learning opportunities, and college and career readiness for students in every Highline Public Schools building.
The route runs along 152nd through downtown Burien and surrounding neighborhood streets. The event includes both a 5k and a 1k, with prizes awarded to the school with the most participants, the adult team with the most participants, top men and women in the 5k, and top boys and girls in the 1k.
Registration opens in late summer for teams and individuals; teams receive a 10% registration discount. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $500 and include a range of promotional options. Volunteer roles support pre-event packet distribution and day of activities such as raffle ticket sales, medal distribution, set up and take down. Route monitors are stationed along the course to help keep participants and neighbors safe; 5k route monitors must be 18 years of age.
