Burien Brat Trot

Burien Brat Trot

Burien Brat Trot is a community fun run that has operated for over sixteen years to raise funds for the Highline Schools Foundation. Money raised through registration and sponsorship supports basic needs, equitable and innovative learning opportunities, and college and career readiness for students at all grade levels across Highline Public Schools.

The event takes place in Downtown Burien and the route runs along 152nd through downtown and surrounding neighborhood streets. The run concludes with an all-ages block party along 152nd that includes food, beer gardens, kids activities, prizes, and other post-race activities.

Event offerings include:

• 5k untimed
• 1k kids run

Pre-registration is open until October 2. The event features team participation with prizes for the largest community-based group and financial incentives for schools: schools with 50 or more participants receive $100, and schools with 100 or more participants receive an additional $100. Teams can be created or joined during registration and receive a registration discount when using the provided team promo code.

Volunteer roles support packet distribution, raffle and medal handling, setup and takedown, and route monitoring. Route monitors are stationed along the course to help keep participants and neighbors safe; 5k route monitors must be 18 years of age. Sponsorship opportunities are available beginning at $500.
