Burien Brat Trot

Burien Brat Trot is a community fun run that raises funds for the Highline Schools Foundation and supports students, families, and educators throughout Highline Public Schools. For over sixteen years the event has raised funds through registration and sponsorship to support basic needs, equitable and innovative learning opportunities, and college and career readiness for students at all grade levels in every Highline school.

The route runs along 152nd through downtown Burien and surrounding neighborhood streets. The event includes competitive and community distances with awards for top men’s and women’s 5k finishers and boys’ and girls’ 1k finishers. Additional recognition is given to the school with the most participants and to the adult team with the most participants.

Registration opens in late summer for teams and individuals. Teams receive a 10% registration discount and can request a team promo code before registering. Sponsorship opportunities start at $500 and include a range of promotional benefits.

Volunteer roles include handing out registration packets before the event and day-of tasks such as raffle ticket sales, medal distribution, set-up, and take down. Route monitors are stationed along the course to help maintain safety; 5k route monitors must be 18 years of age. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
