Event Overview
The Bulldog Chase 5K takes place on August 8, 2026, at Batesville Middle School in Batesville, Indiana. It features a flat out-and-back course for a 5K distance. Three separate events are offered: a 5K run, a 5K walk, and a 5K run for cross country members.
Awards and Recognition
Multiple awards are presented. For the 5K run, top three overall male and female runners are recognized, along with a top male and female master runner. Age group awards cover many categories from 11 & under to 80 & over. The 5K walk also awards the top three overall male and female participants. A $50 cash award is given to the overall male and female winner of the 5K run.
Course records are noted, with a $50 cash reward offered for setting a new 5K run course record.
Entry Fees
Registration fees vary. The standard entry fee is $25 until July 31, which includes a t-shirt. An option for $15 excludes the t-shirt. Cross country team members have a discounted rate of $10 with a t-shirt or $5 without. T-shirt availability is guaranteed only for orders by July 31. Race day registration is available for $25 with a t-shirt (while supplies last) or $20 without.
Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit (SIRC)
This event is the final race in the five-race Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit (SIRC) summer series. Each race in the series is a fundraiser for a host school's running program. The final SIRC series standings are announced at the Bulldog Chase awards program.
Participants completing four or five SIRC races are eligible for series awards in two categories: "Overall SIRC Leader" (fastest cumulative times) and "The Real Winner" (based on age-graded scores). Those who run all five races have their slowest time dropped from their average.
A grand prize giveaway sponsored by Potts Photography & AP Detailing offers a total of $1,000 in prizes. Runners participating in four SIRC races get one entry into the random drawing, and those completing all five get two entries. Prizes are split between age groups 19 & under and 20 & over.
