Event Overview
The Indian Trails 5K is a 5K running and walking event scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Milan, Indiana. The event is the fourth race in the Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit (SIRC), a summer series of five 5K races. Each race in the circuit is a fundraiser for the host school's running program; this event specifically supports the Milan cross country team.
Events and Fees
Participants can choose from three event options:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 5K Run - Cross Country Member
Registration fees vary. The standard entry fee is $25, which includes a t-shirt if registered by June 21. A $15 option is available without a shirt. Registered cross country team members have a discounted rate of $10 with a shirt or $5 without. T-shirt orders are guaranteed if placed by July 21. An online registration fee may apply separately.
Awards
The race presents awards for both running and walking events. For the 5K Run, overall male and female winners are recognized, along with age group awards spanning categories from 10 & Under to 70 & Over. For the 5K Walk, overall male and female winners are awarded, with age groups for 19 & Under, 20-39, and 40 & Over.
The SIRC Series
The Indian Trails 5K is part of the Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit. Participants who complete four or five of the series races are eligible for series-wide awards in two categories: "Overall SIRC Leader" (fastest cumulative times) and "The Real Winner" (based on age-graded scores). Those who run all five races have their slowest time excluded from their series average. A grand prize giveaway of $1,000 is also offered at the final event, with drawings for participants in four or more races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
