Building Homes For Heroes: Honoring Our Heroes 5K Run/Walk
This event is a community 5K run and walk held at Eisenhower Park Field 2 in East Meadow, NY. The program includes a 5K open division, a kids untimed fun run, and a wheelchair and hand cyclist division. The event proceeds benefit the nonprofit Building Homes For Heroes.
Participants who register will receive event amenities that include a race t-shirt for all registrants and finisher medals for the first 150 finishers. Additional on-course and post-race support listed for past events included post race water at the finish, a post-race banana provided by Chiquita Bananas, pre and post race stretching by Professional Physical Therapy, live results delivery by text and email, free finish line photos, and raffles.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in multiple age categories, including 14 & Under and age groups spanning 15-19 through 80+. Bib options have included in-person pickup and a downloadable digital bib, and personalized bibs have been available for registrations completed at least three weeks in advance.
