Building Healthy Communities 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Expo
The 11th Annual Building Healthy Communities 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Expo takes place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Hampton Park, 30 Mary Murray Drive, Charleston, SC 29403. The event benefits the MUSC Children’s Health Wellness Works program, a wellness and weight-management program for children and teens. The course is USATF-certified and the event is open to ages 4 and up.
Event format, inclusions and logistics
The event includes a Wellness Expo that is open to the public and a prize raffle; raffle tickets are available for purchase by cash or card (no checks). Registration includes a t-shirt, a race packet with freebies, water, and healthy snacks. Official timing and overall and age-group awards are offered, with awards for the top three in each group. A finisher’s medal is given to all who complete the entire 5K course. Day-of registration and on-site packet pick-up begin on race day, and an on-site finish-line party will follow with a food truck, face painting, raffle, and healthy snacks.
Packet pickup is also available on Friday, February 13 at Fleet Feet West Ashley (1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd Suite 5, Charleston, SC 29407) from 1:00-6:00 pm. Portable toilets will be available at the event. Exhibitors and vendors include local youth and health organizations and fitness-related businesses.
