Building Healthy Communities 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Expo
The 12th annual Building Healthy Communities 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Expo is a community fundraising event held at Hampton Park, 30 Mary Murray Drive, Charleston, SC, on February 13, 2027. The event features a USATF-certified 5K course with official timing, a finisher's medal for completing the course, and awards for the top three overall finishers and top three in each age group.
A wellness expo runs alongside the run/walk and is open to all attendees whether or not they are registered for the 5K. The day includes a mandatory pre-race meeting, a group warm-up, on-site packet pick-up, and a finish-line gathering with age-group awards and a prize raffle. Raffle tickets can be bought before the event via the online store or on site with cash or card; checks are not accepted and winners must be present to receive prizes.
Paid registrants receive a t-shirt, a race packet with giveaways, official timing chip, water, and healthy snacks; extra t-shirts will be available for purchase. Packet pick-up is offered the day before the race and on event morning at the 5K headquarters in Hampton Park. Street parking surrounds the park and an additional parking lot is a short walk away.
