Buffalo Wallow Races
The Buffalo Wallow Races is an annual running event held at Buffalo Springs Lake Campgrounds and cantina area. The 45th edition is scheduled for November 14, 2026. The event has been organized since 1982 and includes multiple race distances.
Distances offered:
- 2 Mile run or walk
- Quarter Marathon
- Half Marathon run
Entry fees and rules are specified by the organizer. A gate fee applies at Buffalo Lakes. Fee categories include lower rates for club members and higher rates for non members, with distinct fees for the half marathon and for the shorter events. There is no race day registration and no refunds.
Age requirements are set for each distance: participants aged seven and older may enter the 2 Mile run or walk; the quarter and half marathon runs require participants to be at least sixteen years old; stroller use is restricted to adults aged eighteen and older for the 2 Mile only. Packet and bib pickup is available in advance at a local running store and on race day at the cantina area. A race shirt is provided for half marathon participants only.
