Buffalo Wallow Races
The Buffalo Wallow Races is an annual road event held at Buffalo Springs Lake Cantina and Campgrounds (324 Comanche Road). It has been organized since 1982 and the 2026 edition is listed as the 45th annual running. The event includes multiple distances and separate entry categories.
Distances:
- 2 Mile run/walk
- Quarter Marathon run
- Half Marathon run
Packet and bib pickup is offered before the event at FootTech on 19th Street and also on race day at the campsite cantina area. Entry fees vary by distance and membership status; a gate fee applies at Buffalo Lakes. Race day registration is limited and there are no refunds. A race shirt is provided only for half marathon entrants. A course map is available for the half and quarter marathon routes.
Age and participation rules state that the 2 Mile is open to participants aged 7 and older, the quarter and half marathon runs require participants to be at least 16, and strollers are allowed only in the 2 Mile for participants aged 18 and older.
