Buffalo Wallow Races
Buffalo Wallow Races is an annual running event held at Buffalo Springs Lake Cantina and Campgrounds, located at 324 Comanche Road. The event has been held since 1982 and the 2026 edition is the 45th annual running.
Distances offered:
- 2 Mile run/walk
- Quarter Marathon
- Half Marathon
Packet and bib pickup are available in advance at FootTech on 19th Street and on race day at the cantina area. A course map is provided for the half and quarter marathon.
Entry fees include a gate fee and separate member and non member prices: a gate fee at the lake, lower fees for members and youth in some distances, and higher fees for non members in the half marathon. Race day registration is limited and all entries are final with no refunds.
Age and participation rules: participants must be at least 7 years old for the 2 Mile, at least 16 for the quarter and half marathon runs, and stroller use is allowed only for ages 18 and older in the 2 Mile. No pets are allowed on the course. A race t shirt is provided for half marathon participants. Recent finishers counts include 260 in 2025 and 265 in 2024.
