Buffalo Stampede 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The Buffalo Stampede is a community road race held on October 10, 2026, in Bryan, Texas, that benefits the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. The event offers two distances:
- 5K Race
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Races are live Chrono timed and use disposable bib tags on USATF certified, out-and-back courses. All Sports Timing conducts the event and results are posted by the timing company. The 5K course is described as gently rolling, scenic, relatively flat, and passes through open country, neighborhoods, and parks, with a downhill finish. The route is marked by Area Wide Protective and includes two cheer stations along the way.
Entry procedures include online and paper registration options, with online registration closing the day before the event and paper registrations accepted on race day. Packet pick-up is available at the museum in the days prior to the race and on race day. All registrants receive a T-shirt; sizes are guaranteed only for registrations made by September 16. Additional shirts may be available for purchase while supplies last.
Awards include overall male and female trophies for the 5K, finisher medals for both events, and first through third place age-group awards in ten-year divisions for the 5K. The event coincides with Boonville Days, during which museum admission is free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
