Buffalo Stampede - Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History
The Buffalo Stampede is an annual community race held at the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History in Bryan, Texas. The 2026 event takes place on October 10, 2026, and offers timed road races that benefit the museum.

The 5K is USATF certified, out-and-back, and described as gently rolling and scenic with a downhill finish. Races use live Chrono timing with disposable bib tags and results will be published by the timing provider. Course marking and on-course safety are provided by Area Wide Protective. Two cheer stations are part of the course; the first two registered stations receive a cash prize and participants receive event amenities such as T-shirts and museum admission.
Registrations are accepted online, by paper form, and on race day with varying fees by registration period. Packet pick-up and late registration are available at the museum prior to race day; race day packet pick-up is also available. Entry fees are non-refundable. Overall and age-group awards are given for the 5K, and finishers in both events receive medals. The event continues alongside the museum’s Boonville Days festival and occurs rain or shine.
