Buffalo Creek Half Marathon
The 21st Annual Buffalo Creek Half Marathon is a point-to-point running event located in southwest Butler County. The race covers a distance of 13.1 miles and is held on the third Saturday of October. All proceeds from the event benefit the Butler Freeport Community Trail.
The course primarily follows the Butler Freeport Community Trail, featuring a surface mostly composed of crushed limestone. The route is designed as a gentle downhill course, which often assists participants in achieving personal best times. The race takes place during the autumn season, providing scenery characterized by fall foliage along the trail.
The event starts at the Cabot Methodist Church in Cabot, Pennsylvania. The finish line is located at the southern terminus of the Butler Freeport Community Trail, situated at the trailhead near Montrose Avenue in Buffalo Township. This finishing area is located under the Highway 356 bridge over the Allegheny River, at the site formerly known as Butler Junction.
Participants have access to runner parking at the starting location at Cabot Methodist Church. Following the completion of the race, a continuous shuttle service provides transportation from the finish line back to the runner parking area. Participants receive a technical shirt, available in both men's and ladies' sizes, as a giveaway for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
