4th of July Run & Walk
The Buffalo Chips 4th of July Run & Walk is a free, untimed community event held on July 4th, 2026 at Rio Americano High School, 4540 American River Drive, Sacramento, CA 95864. The event uses a new course for 2026 and features a main run and short fun runs for children.
Distances include:
- 4 miles run and walk
- 200 m non competitive fun run for older children
- 100 m non competitive fun run for very young children
Although the event is untimed, a race clock will be placed at the finish line. Organizers request that all participants complete an online liability waiver before the event to reduce lines on race day. Participation is free for all entrants, and a minimum donation of $5 per runner to the Lyme Fight Foundation is encouraged. The Lyme Fight Foundation will have a booth and a donation dropbox at the event.
