Buffalo Chips 4th of July Run & Walk
The Buffalo Chips Running Club holds a community run and walk on July 4, 2026. The event uses a new course for 2026 and is organized as an untimed mass-participation run with a race clock at the finish area.
Start and finish are located in front of Rio Americano High School in Sacramento, California. Organizers request that participants complete an online liability waiver before the event to reduce onsite lines. Attendees are advised to arrive early to find parking.
Participation is free for all runners and walkers. Organizers also request a suggested minimum donation of $5 per runner to benefit the Lyme Fight Foundation. The foundation will have a booth and a dropbox at the event to collect donations.
The program includes short non-competitive fun runs for children before the main start. Distances offered at the event include:
- 4 miles run or walk
- 200 m non-competitive fun run for older children
- 100 m non-competitive fun run for very young children
