Event overview
The Buddy Holly Run is a club race held in Lubbock, Texas, at the Buddy Holly Center, 1801 Crickets Ave. The event has been held since 2022 and the 2026 edition is scheduled for April 11, 2026. Distances offered include:

- 5K Run/Walk
- 15K Run
The event is organized as a T-shirt race and a course map is provided.
Registration and logistics
Online signup for the 2026 event expires on April 10 at 11:59 PM. Registrations submitted by Monday, April 6 guarantee a shirt size. Packet pickup is available at FootTech on Friday, April 10 (11:00 AM - 6:00 PM) or on race day (6:45 - 7:40 AM). There is no race day registration and no refunds.
Entry fees by category listed for 2026 are:
- $15 for 1 Mile - WTRC members and non-member children age 4-12 (1 Mile only).
- $25 for members and non-member children age 10-12 (5K).
- $25 for members (5K and 15K).
- $35 for non-members (5K and 15K).
Age requirements are:
- 4-12 for the 1 Mile,
- 10+ for the 5K Run/Walk,
- 16+ for the 15K Run. Strollers are allowed in the 5K only for participants 18 and older.

The event maintains age-group and overall course records. The 5K was established in 2023 and the 15K in 2022. Recorded finisher counts for the Buddy Holly Run show 319 finishers in 2025, 251 in 2024, 233 in 2023, and 189 in 2022. Race media galleries from previous years are available.
