Buddy Holly Run

The Buddy Holly Run is a spring running event held at the Buddy Holly Center, 1801 Crickets Ave, Lubbock TX. The event was established in 2022 and is scheduled for April 11, 2026.

Registration opens March 14. Online signup expires April 10 at 11:59 PM. Registrations submitted by Monday April 6 are eligible for guaranteed shirt sizes. Packet pickup is available at FootTech on Friday April 10 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on race day in the morning.

Entry fees and eligibility are published for each distance. Fees listed include a $15 option for the 1 mile for club members and non member children age 4 to 12; $25 and $35 tiers apply for 5K and 15K depending on membership status. Age requirements are 4 to 12 for the 1 mile, 10 and up for the 5K, and 16 and up for the 15K. Strollers are permitted in the 5K only for adults age 18 and over.

There is no race day registration and no refunds. The event includes a race shirt for participants. Race records exist for the 5K and 15K events and participant totals have ranged from 189 in 2022 to 319 in 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
