Event overview
The Bucs Bounty 5K and 1mi Fun Run takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, on the Florida SouthWestern State College campus in Punta Gorda. The event includes the following distances:

- 1 Mile Fun Run
- K-College 5K (student only)
Registration prices listed are $35 for the 5K, $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run, and $25 for the K-College 5K. Registration closes in mid-January 2026 and price increases occur after January 15, 2026. Participants who register by December 17, 2025 are guaranteed a race shirt.
Course, awards and logistics
The 5K course runs through the FSW campus, alongside a campus lake and under oak trees, and uses paved roads, sidewalks, and parking lots. Professional timing is provided for competitive 5K runners. Awards for the 5K include overall top adult and student male and female finishers, plus medals for age group placings across standard youth, adult, and master divisions (age groups from 9-under through 70+ and master divisions for 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+). Non-motorized wheelchairs are permitted in the 5K. All participants receive a short-sleeve race t-shirt and a numbered bib. The event features a Best Buccaneer costume contest and bead giveaways along the course.
