Bucs Bounty 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The Bucs Bounty event is an inaugural running event held on January 16, 2027, on the Florida SouthWestern State College campus in Punta Gorda. Proceeds support Florida Southwestern Collegiate High School programs, student activities, and campus improvements.

- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The 5K course runs through the college campus, beside the campus lake and under large oak trees. The route uses a mix of paved roads, sidewalks, and parking areas. The 1 Mile Fun Run follows the 5K event and is presented as a separate shorter option.
Packet pick up is scheduled the day before the event at the FSW Charlotte campus location. All participants receive a short-sleeve race t-shirt and a numbered bib. Beads will be distributed along the course for participants to collect, and a Best Buccaneer Costume Contest is included with a prize for the winner.
Competitive 5K runners will receive professional timing. Awards for the 5K include overall top adult male and female finishers and overall top student male and female finishers. Age-group medals are planned for multiple divisions, with age groups from 9-under up through 70+. Master divisions include Master 40+, Grandmaster 50+, Senior Grandmaster 60+, and Veteran Grandmaster 70+. Wheelchair racers are welcome in the 5K; only non-motorized wheelchairs are permitted.
