Bucktown 5K & Kids Dash in Chicago
The Bucktown 5K and Kids Dash take place in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood on October 4, 2026. The event uses a flat course on closed city streets and runs past historic buildings and residential homes. The route is presented as family friendly and suitable for runners accompanied by children.
Registration for the live 5K includes a premium swag item and a commemorative finisher medal. 5K runners receive a full zip hoodie as part of the kit. Kids Dash participants receive a comfortable youth t-shirt. All finishers receive a new medal and free finisher photos. A post-race neighborhood block party follows the race with live music, snacks, and drinks.
Options beyond the live events include a Virtual 5K so participants can run from anywhere and still receive event swag. Group registration is available for teams, clubs, or coworkers. Volunteer opportunities are offered for roles such as packet pickup and medal distribution. The event partners with Friends of Burr to support Jonathan Burr Elementary School through a charity program.
