13th Annual Buckeye Marathon and Associated Races
The event on January 9, 2027 features multiple timed and untimed distances at Buckeye Municipal Airport and surrounding roads near the White Tank Mountains. The marathon begins at Festival Foothills Elementary School and finishes on the runway at the airport. The marathon route drops more than 530 feet in elevation.
This USATF certified course serves as a Boston qualifier. All in-person events are chip timed and real time results and photos are available. The marathon course has a six hour closure time and requires a minimum pace of 13:45 per mile; the half marathon has a five hour closure time.

Support on course includes water and Gatorade roughly every two miles on the marathon through mile 20 and then at each mile thereafter; half marathon and 5K courses have water stations at every mile. GU energy gels and portable restrooms are provided at specified locations along the courses. Participants receive a custom event medal and a Dri-Fit tech shirt with upgrade options or a small discount for opting out of apparel.
No refunds are available. Transfers to virtual entry or deferrals to 2028 are offered by posted deadlines. Donations benefit the City of Buckeye Youth Scholarship Fund. Strollers are allowed and pets are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
