13th Annual Buckeye Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The event on January 9, 2027 is a road race series held at Buckeye Municipal Airport and the surrounding area near the White Tank Mountains. Distances offered include:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Virtual option (US addresses only)
The marathon course starts at Festival Foothills Elementary School, travels around the White Tank Mountains, and finishes on the runway at Buckeye Municipal Airport. The marathon drops over 530 feet in elevation from start to finish. All courses are USATF certified and the event serves as a Boston and national qualifier. All events are chip timed with real-time results and race photos.
On-course support includes water and Gatorade approximately every two miles on the marathon through mile 20 and then at every mile; water at every mile for the half and 5K; GU energy gels at select marathon and half marathon locations; and restrooms about every two miles. The marathon course has a closure time of six hours and the half marathon has a closure time of five hours.
Participants receive a custom finisher medal and a dri-fit tech shirt, with age-group awards for the top three in marathon, half, 10K and 5K. Strollers are welcome, pets are not permitted, and there is no bag check at the airport finish. Donations benefit the Buckeye Youth Scholarship Fund.
