The course follows desert trails through the foothills of the Sierra Estrella mountain range. Typical seasonal temperatures in Goodyear average highs in the mid 60s and lows in the low 40s. All finishers receive a finisher award, and participants earn points in the Desert Runner Trail Series; 100 mile finishers receive buckles. The event is cupless; UltrAspire reusable cups will be available at registration and on race day, or runners may bring their own. Volunteer roles include setup, aid station captains and helpers, timing, photography, videography, social media, course sweep, and breakdown; volunteer perks include Aravaipa merchandise or a race goody and Aravaipa Race Credits.
