Avondazzle Dash takes place at the Avondale Civic Center and offers community running distances through the venue's holiday light displays. The event presents a seasonal atmosphere where participants are invited to wear winter costumes and run through illuminated areas at the Civic Center.

The event includes a Frosty Finish Line Party with a breakfast offering and a light show at the finish area. A designated 1K Winter Waddle is described as a single lap through the light show. Strollers are permitted; stroller-walkers are asked to position themselves at the back of the starting corral. Pets are not allowed on the course for safety reasons, with the exception of service animals.
