Brynkinalt Running Festival

About the race

The Brynkinalt Running Festival stages trail races at Brynkinalt Estate on the edge of Wrexham, set on private land that is normally closed to the public. The festival runs across a weekend with canicross races on Saturday and standard trail running on Sunday.

The routes use a mix of fast footpaths, grass sections and short stony stretches, with some climbs and views across the estate. The race start and finish are located in front of Brynkinalt Hall; the parking area is on the estate and carries a small fee. Organisers provide one water station approximately halfway on the 10k and water at the start and finish areas. Runners receive a medal at the finish and other event goodies.

Minimum ages are set for each distance: the 5k has a minimum age of 12 and the 10k a minimum age of 16. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers at each distance. The festival lists The Movement Centre as a charity partner. Because the route is on private land the exact course is not published for general use outside event times.
