Brynkinalt Running Festival
The festival takes place on the private Brynkinalt Estate on the edge of Wrexham and offers trail running and canicross across approximately two distances. The event uses routes that are normally closed to the public and includes start and finish areas in front of Brynkinalt Hall.
Distances
- 5k (approx)
- 10k (approx)
Routes run across a mix of fast footpaths, grassed sections and small stoney areas, with climbs that provide views across the estate. The organiser provides one water station roughly halfway around the 10k route and water at the start and finish areas; participants are advised to bring a suitable bottle for running. Parking is at Brynkinalt Estate, Chirk, Trevor Road, LL14 5HA with a parking fee of £3 and a note to approach from the centre of Chirk rather than the trade entrance.
The event programmes canicross on the first day and standard trail running on the following day. Minimum ages apply: 12 years for the 5k and 16 years for the 10k. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers at each distance. The Movement Centre is listed as a charity partner for the event.
