Sweet Air Trail Race
The Sweet Air Trail Race is a summer trail event scheduled for July 12, 2026, at Gunpowder State Park, Sweet Air. The advertised distance is 7 miles; the course is also described as approximately 8 miles and crosses from the Harford County side to the Baltimore County side and back.
The route includes a mix of terrain: rolling hills, faster runnable sections, water crossings and occasional muddy stretches. The course routing and water crossings are noted features of the event.
The park has limited the field to 100 runners. In prior years the event attracted more than 200 participants. Registration carries no required fee, though donations are accepted at bib pickup. Registrants who cannot run are asked to inform the organizers so their spot can be offered to another runner.
