Event Overview
The BRRC Sundae Sunday 10-Miler is a running race organized by the Bloomsday Road Runners Club. The event takes place in Spokane, Washington, with the course starting and finishing at Pauline Flett Middle School, located behind the VA Hospital on Wellesley Avenue. The race utilizes a gun start and follows an established route through the surrounding neighborhoods.
Course Details
The route begins in the school parking lot and heads onto Wellesley Avenue. Participants navigate through residential areas before reaching Northwest Boulevard. The course includes a short out-and-back section at the gun club interchange. The final stretch leads runners back up the hill on Assembly Street, passing the VA Hospital before turning onto Wellesley Avenue to return to the school grounds.
Two aid stations are positioned along the course at approximately mile 2.5 and mile 6.5. These stations provide water, Gatorade Endurance, and portable toilets.
Distances and Recognition
- 10 Miles: A single-distance road race through residential and main streets.
Awards are presented to the overall top male and female finishers, as well as winners in specialized categories including Masters (40-60), Grand Masters (61-70), and Senior Grand Masters (71+). Ribbons are awarded to the top three finishers in five-year age groups. All participants receive a medal upon completion. Post-race refreshments include ice cream provided by Ben & Jerry's.
