March for the Fallen 2026
March for the Fallen is a memorial running and rucking event held in Mead, Washington, with start and finish at the Hop Mountain Taproom & Grill parking lot and a course set up at the adjacent Mead Airport. The event was relocated from Riverside State Park due to wildfire closures and will feature Fallen Hero banners along the course and water stations.
Distances and formats include:
- 5k Run or Walk
- 5k Ruck (35 lb minimum for competitive ruck)
- 10k Run or Walk
- 10k Ruck (35 lb minimum for competitive ruck)
- 15.6k Run or Walk
- 15.6k Ruck (35 lb minimum for competitive ruck)
- Virtual March for the Fallen 2026
Rucking divisions require packs to weigh at least 35 pounds to be eligible for awards, and participants are encouraged to fill packs with food pantry items that will be donated to NewbyGinnings. The virtual option includes a mailed bib and event T-shirt; virtual results must be completed and submitted by 9/21/26.
The event will not be timed this year, distances will be approximate, and uneven terrain may make parts of the course similar to a trail run. After the run, activities and community programming will take place at Hop Mountain, including music, food vendors, a beer garden, climbing wall, historic and SWAT vehicles, lawn games, face painting, and raffles. A registration fee of $30 applies to listed entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
