Brookhaven International Festival 5K Walk/Run
The event is a professionally timed 5K held as part of the Brookhaven International Festival at the Peachtree Creek Greenway Briarwood Road Trailhead, 1793 Briarwood Road Northeast, Brookhaven, GA 30329. The course runs along the North Fork of Peachtree Creek, uses the Peachtree Creek Greenway model mile and adjoining parking lots, and is primarily off road.
This race is a USATF certified 5K and serves as a qualifying event for the Atlanta Journal Constitution Peachtree Road Race. Registration fees and donations are routed to the race partner We Love Buford Highway, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on preserving the multicultural identity of the Buford Highway corridor; the organizer states that 100 percent of registration fees and donations go to that partner. Registration for fundraising events is non refundable and the event will proceed rain or shine. The organizer also notes that T shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrations made the weekend of the event.
The event welcomes runners, walkers, strollers, elders and children and describes the course as family friendly. Awards include overall men's and women's results and age group awards from 13 and under through 66 and over. Sponsorship opportunities are available for this third annual edition of the race.
