Brookhaven Duck Duck Goose 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The Murphey Candler Park Conservancy presents the annual Brookhaven Duck Duck Goose event on October 31, 2026, with Duck Duck Goose Food Trucks the night before on October 30, 2026. The event is a fundraiser that supports the conservancy’s work at Murphey Candler Park.

Both races start and finish at the Murphey Candler Park Open Field, also called County Corner, at the corner of Candler Lake East and West Nancy Creek Drive. The 2026 5K route begins in the neighborhood on West Nancy Creek Drive, goes through the football and softball parking areas, follows the Nancy Creek trail past baseball fields, includes an out-and-back on Candler Lake West, enters park trails below Navajo Trail, crosses the north boardwalk overlooking the lake, follows forested trails on the east park side, ascends East Nancy Creek toward Cary Reynolds Elementary School, and returns on Candler Lake East to finish in the Open Field.
The 1 mile fun run crosses over the dam and includes wooded trails, a lake view, and the north boardwalk.
Parking is available in multiple Murphey Candler Park lots, including the parking lot at West Nancy Creek and Candler Lake West, the Atlanta Colts football and softball lots, and gravel shoulder lots on Candler Lake East. Early race packet pick-up takes place at the park during the Duck Duck Food Truck social on Horseshoe Road. Online registration has a reduced fee deadline of September 21 and closes on October 26. Race T-shirts are provided to registrations completed before October 5. Volunteers are needed to assist with T-shirt delivery and event support.
