Bronte 5 Road Race
The Bronte 5 is a scenic, undulating five mile road race on quiet country roads from the Bronte village of Haworth. The course comprises two laps of Penistone Country Park and includes the Yorkshire Veterans Athletics Association five mile men’s and women’s road championships.
The event is listed for 3 June 2027 but that date is noted as to be confirmed. The race venue is Haworth Cricket Club on West Lane, with the start located near Haworth Primary School, about a five minute walk from the club.
Entry is available online and there is limited on-the-day entry subject to a 200 runner limit. Advance entry fees are stated as £10 for attached runners and £12 for unattached runners; on-the-day entry is £15 if places remain. There is an option on the entry form to indicate eligibility for the YVAA championships. The YVAA championship is restricted to members of clubs affiliated to the YVAA and trophies will be awarded in all categories. Prize giving is held in the Cricket Club after the race.
Refreshments will be offered at the Cricket Club before and after the race. Toilets and changing areas are available but very limited. Local car parks may require a parking ticket and some nearby streets may be permit only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
