About the race
Brokenagan is a trail running event held on July 24, 2027 in Silver Star Provincial Park near Vernon, BC. The event is organized by Bush Babes and offers two distinct formats on separate courses: a Backyard Ultra with one loop every hour and a 24 Hour endurance run.
The Backyard Ultra uses a loop that is 4.17 miles in length (metric equivalent 6.7056 kilometers). Each loop follows single and double track trails with a mix of hard pack and grassy surfaces, winding through forest, open meadows with wildflowers, marshy lowlands, and past a mountain lake along cross country ski trails. The Backyard Ultra follows standard backyard rules where a loop must be completed within an hour to count and the last runner to complete a loop is the winner; if no runner completes more loops than the others, there is no winner.
The 24 Hour Endurance Run is a separate course composed of 5 km loops where participants complete as many loops as they can in 24 hours.
Support includes a fully stocked manned aid station on each lap offering water, Tailwind, GU gels, electrolytes, fruit, snacks, music, massage and volunteer support.
