Brokenagan Backyard Ultra and 24 Hours of Endurance
Brokenagan takes place at Silver Star Provincial Park near Vernon, BC, at about 5,500 feet elevation. The event offers three formats: a 24 hour solo endurance run, a 24 hour two person team relay, and a Backyard Ultra in which runners complete one loop each hour.
The course is a 4.17 mile loop featuring single and double track trails with a mix of hard pack and grassy surfaces. The loop passes through alpine forest, open meadows with wildflowers, marshy lowlands, and by a mountain lake, largely along the Sovereign Lake Nordic Club cross-country ski trails.
Early registration through January 31, 2026 is CAD 100 per runner. A guaranteed t-shirt is an extra CAD 30 and a meal is an extra CAD 20. Registration is handled through UltraSignup; GST and processing fees are not included. Participants must be 18 years or older on race day; minors may participate with prior permission from the Race Director. For team relay registration, each member registers individually and the first registrant creates the official team name for others to select. All team members pay individually.
Aid stations are fully stocked each lap with water, electrolytes, snacks, and first aid. The staging area provides space for aid tents, massage therapy, a sponsor expo, volunteer support, and professional timing. Runners receive a custom bib, a swag bag, and a finisher prize.
