Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run
The Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run is a long distance running event held in Philadelphia. Established over 45 years ago, the race attracts more than 40,000 participants from across the globe.
The course follows Broad Street, beginning at the intersection of Broad Street and Somerville Avenue. Runners travel through various City of Philadelphia neighborhoods and finish the route at the Navy Yard. The event is recognized as the largest 10-mile race in the United States.
The event offers several participation categories:
- 10 miles
- Childrens Run (available for participants aged 1 to 12)
Due to its popularity, entry for the 10-mile distance is typically managed through a lottery system. Registration for the lottery generally opens in early February. Options are also available for corporate and club team registrations. The event provides secondary services such as race insurance, a refund policy, and opportunities for volunteers. Spectators gather along the urban course to observe the race as it progresses through the city. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
