Rocky 5K Fun Run - To support Children's Access to Both Parents
This is an in-person 5K run open to anyone who wants to show support for children’s access to both parents. Participants gather at Geno’s in South Philadelphia and run a route that follows approximately 5 kilometers to the Philadelphia Art Museum. The event lists Geno’s address as 1219 S 9th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, and the museum at 2600 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Philadelphia, PA 19130.
The run is unofficial and unsanctioned. There will be no road closures or city accommodations, so participants are responsible for their own safety and must follow local traffic laws. The founder of Mothers and Fathers Truly Matter will run at roughly an 11 minute per mile pace to stay with the main group.
The event is part of a larger effort to complete 50 half marathons in 50 states, one each month, and to raise awareness about parental alienation and family court practices that can separate children from loving parents. All funds raised from this run go directly to advancing the mission of Mothers and Fathers Truly Matter. Funds support early-year goals such as building a national advisory board of legal and mental health professionals, launching a public awareness campaign on children’s access to both parents, publishing related research and data, developing educational resources for families, and expanding outreach to grow a national support base.
