Brighter Day 5K Run/Walk
The event takes place on May 1, 2027 at Washington Lake Park in Sewell, New Jersey. It advances mental health access and awareness in minority and underserved communities by providing resources and promoting understanding and compassion for people affected by mental health challenges and related addictions.
Participants can choose between a measured 5K run and an untimed 1 mile walk. The course runs through Washington Lake Park, a 330-acre municipal park, with the race start and finish located near the Amphitheater. Parking is available in Lot E, which is closest to the Amphitheater. Race timing is provided by jbsportstiming.com using chip timing technology.
Registration fees vary by date: $25 for online registration through January 31, 2027; $30 from February 1 through March 17, 2027; $35 from March 18 through April 30, 2027; and $40 for day of registration. Shirts are guaranteed for those who pre-register by April 17, 2027; remaining shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Awards include a $50 cash prize for the overall first place male and female finishers based on gun time, and age group prizes for the top male and female in each age group 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over based on chip time.
