US Road Running - Akron
The Gobbler event at Akron, Pennsylvania, is a road running competition hosted at Loyd H Roland Memorial Park. The event features two primary distances held on a paved out-and-back course. Participants follow a specific segment of 0.78 miles (1.56 miles per full out-and-back lap) to complete their respective races.
The available distances include:
- 5K: This distance requires runners to complete the out-and-back loop twice.
- 10K: This distance requires runners to complete the out-and-back loop four times.
All participants have a course time limit of two hours to finish their race. Registration must be completed online prior to the event, as there is no option for on-site registration. Runners can collect their race packets at the location starting 30 minutes before the event begins.
The start and finish area is situated near the park pavilion, which provides access to bathroom facilities for all attendees. Those who complete the race receive a finisher medal. The event also features a best costume competition, and participants can earn points toward the US Road Running series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
