Vikes & Vets 5k and Fun Run
The Vikes & Vets 5k and Fun Run is an annual athletic event held at Northern Lebanon High School in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania. Organized by the Northern Lebanon Viking Foundation and Northern Lebanon Cross Country, the event features two distinct distances:
- 5 km cross-country style run
- 1000 meters fun run for children ages 12 and under
The 5 km course consists of a hilly mix of surfaces, including trails, grass, and macadam. It utilizes portions of the high school's existing cross-country course and takes place rain or shine. The children's fun run covers approximately 1000 meters and is held on a mix of macadam and grass.
Participants can find light refreshments available after the races, and local food trucks are present on-site for food purchases. Awards are presented in several categories for the 5 km race, including top overall male and female finishers, as well as specific recognitions for Northern Lebanon alumni and military personnel. Age group awards are also distributed for participants ranging from 12 and under to 70 and over.
Registration for the 5 km includes a long-sleeve technical tee if completed by the early deadline. For the kids' fun run, short-sleeve shirts are available for an additional fee with early registration. Race day packet pickup is located at the Northern Lebanon Stadium Field House.
