2026 Brigantine Beach Triathlon
The 2026 Brigantine Beach Triathlon takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Brigantine, New Jersey, with activity centered at the 26th Street City Dock and the 26th Street Recreation Complex. The event is presented by the City of Brigantine and Green Whales, Inc.
The program includes multiple event types: Triathlon Open, three-person and two-person triathlon relays, Duathlon, Aquabike, and a Defer To Next Year option. The race has a history of benefiting local groups and community programs, including the Polar Bear Plunge, Brigantine Rams, Brigantine Baseball and Softball, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, the American Red Cross, Brigantine Community School, the South Jersey Cancer Fund, Atlantic United Soccer, and the EHT Police Explorers.
The main course sequence is a bay swim from the 26th Street City Dock area, followed by a bike loop around the island, and a run that goes to the north end of Brigantine and back, finishing at the 26th Street Recreation Complex. Distances for the primary course are:
- ¼ mile swim in the bay
- 11 mile bike around the island
- 4 mile run to the north end and back
Local police, fire, EMS, public works, beach patrol, emergency management, the NJ State Police, and the US Coast Guard are involved in event operations. The field is expected to include several hundred athletes and the race will be capped at 600 registrants. After the competition, athletes gather at the recreation complex for lunch, a DJ, and an awards ceremony. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
