Bridge Day 5K Run Overview

The Bridge Day 5K Run is a point-to-point race held in conjunction with West Virginia’s largest single-day event. The race is limited to 600 participants and follows a course that starts north of the New River Gorge Bridge and finishes in downtown Fayetteville.

Course and Event Format

Participants start on the north side of the bridge and run across the structure. Due to security regulations and event logistics, the first mile of the course across the bridge is a run-only section; walking is permitted only after exiting the bridge. The route continues through town streets, ending at North Court Street in front of the historic Fayette County Courthouse. Volunteers are stationed along the course to assist with direction, and the route is marked with yard signs and road markings.

Participant Information

• The minimum age to enter the race is 8.
• Strollers, dogs, bicycles, skates, and skateboards are not permitted on the course.
• Registration includes a t-shirt (for those registered by the deadline), a finisher medal, chip timing, and finish line snacks.
• Participants must choose a check-in location (North Side or South Side) based on their travel direction, as Route 19 is closed to vehicle traffic during the event.
• Shuttle bus transportation is provided to transport participants between the check-in areas and the start or finish lines as needed.

Schedule and Logistics

Packet pickup is available on the Friday evening before the race at the Memorial Building in Fayetteville. Race-day packet pickup is also available at the designated check-in locations.
