Bridge Day 5K RUN
The Bridge Day 5K RUN is a run-only 5K event on October 17, 2026 in Fayetteville, West Virginia. The course starts on the north side of the New River Gorge Bridge and proceeds south toward the Court Street finish line in the town of Fayetteville. Event facilities are based at the Fayette County Memorial Building, 200 West Maple Ave, Fayetteville, WV 25840.
The event is restricted to running only; walking is not permitted because of road closures associated with the Official Bridge Day event. Entry is limited to 500 participants and the minimum age to enter is 8. Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes February 24, 2026. The registration fee is $45.00.
Participants receive a finisher medal. Top finisher medals are awarded by male and female divisions for these age groups: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Racers must maintain a pace of 15 minutes per mile for the initial mile for safety; walking breaks or a slower pace are allowed after the first mile.
The event is sponsored by West Virginia University Institute of Technology and supports Active SWV's Kids Run Clubs and Community Captains programs.
