Bridge Burner Ultra
Bridge Burner Ultra is a trail event in Canon City, Colorado, with a start area at Centennial Park. The event offers several distances on recently developed singletrack in the Royal Gorge area.
The 35 mile course is a single loop that begins along the Arkansas River and passes through granite blasted tunnels along Tunnel Drive. Runners climb to the course high point at 7,109 feet, with views of the Royal Gorge, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and Pikes Peak. Much of the route follows rolling singletrack inside Royal Gorge Mountain Park. The 50K course crosses the highest bridge in the United States before a final descent through Temple Canyon. The course total elevation gain is about 4,500 feet. The organizer describes this as a late season event.
