Royal Gorge Groove - April 25, 2026
Royal Gorge Groove is a trail running event at Royal Gorge Ranch & Resort in Cañon City, Colorado. Races run along the rim of the Royal Gorge, about 900 feet above the Arkansas River. Courses include rocky, technical singletrack with cliffs, steep drop-offs, and rolling hills. The event offers aid stations spaced about every 2 to 6 miles. EMTs will be based at the start/finish headquarters and a phone number will be provided for on-course assistance. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance and all finishers receive a finisher award.

All races start and finish at Royal Gorge Ranch & Resort. Crews are allowed at the start/finish area; drop bags are permitted at the finish area and for 50K runners at the start/finish. No pacers are allowed for any distance. Bib pickup is available the day before and on race morning at designated locations. Weather in April is likely to be cool and snow is possible; runners may be required to carry essential gear and organizers may stop runners if conditions are unsafe. Camping and lodging options are listed for the race weekend, including reserved campground spaces and nearby rentals. Volunteers are sought for multiple roles and may earn race credits.
