Event Overview
The Bridge Builder 5k is the seventh annual running event hosted by the Upsilon Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the Omega Youth and Development Foundation. The event supports the fraternity's health initiative to promote an active lifestyle in Polk County, Florida.
Course and Location
The 5k race takes place around Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland. The course starts and finishes near the First Presbyterian Church at 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive.
Event Format
Participants can choose between a live, in-person race and a virtual option.
Awards and Participant Items
Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers, and to the top three finishers in standard five-year age groups, starting from 9 and under up to 70+. All registered participants, for both live and virtual events, receive a custom race bib and a finisher medal upon completing the event. A race shirt is guaranteed for those who pre-register before March 20, 2026.
Registration
Online registration closes at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026. Onsite registration and packet pickup on race day begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 8:15 AM. The event uses chip timing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
