Brevard Classic Races : Downtown Brevard, North Carolina
The Brevard Classic Races take place on May 29, 2027, in downtown Brevard during White Squirrel Weekend. The event features community-lined streets with a downtown start and finish and scenic sections that include greenways, country roads, and East Main Street homes. Routes include rolling hills, shady stretches, and wide-open views, and the course is well marked with volunteers along the way.

- 12K (7.4 miles)
All participants receive a commemorative finisher medal. Registered participants receive a complimentary race shirt if registered by April 25, 2027; shirts are $25 after that deadline. The event uses professional chip-timing and offers professional photos available for free after the race. Overall and age group awards are given, and 2027 adds cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers in the 12K. Course records and course maps are published for each distance.
The event runs alongside a free community celebration with live music, children’s activities, craft vendors, and local shopping. A virtual race option is available with mailed swag for virtual participants. Roads on parts of the route are open to traffic, so stroller runners should note that some sections require using greenways or sidewalks. Volunteers are welcomed to help with the event.
