Brevard Classic Races
The Brevard Classic Races take place in downtown Brevard, North Carolina on May 29, 2027 during White Squirrel Weekend. The event offers two measured road courses that start and finish in the downtown area and run through community-lined streets.
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 12K (7.4 miles)
Both routes use a mix of rolling roads, shady stretches, greenways, and sections of East Main Street lined with historic homes. The courses are marked and supported by volunteers, and professional chip-timing is used to record results. Course maps are available for each distance.
Participants who register before April 25, 2027 receive a complimentary race shirt; a shirt purchase option is available afterward for $25. A custom finisher medal is provided to the first 550 registered participants. Event services include professional race photography available after the race and awards for overall and age group finishers. A virtual race option is offered; virtual participants receive mailed race apparel and finisher items when provided.
The event notes that roads are open to traffic and some sections require moving between greenways and sidewalks; families may bring well-behaved, leashed dogs and strollers with those conditions in mind. Registration transfers into the virtual event are allowed before the race start.
