Brevard Classic Races
The Brevard Classic Races take place in downtown Brevard, North Carolina, during White Squirrel Weekend and offer two measured road race options that start and finish in the downtown area. Routes run through community-lined streets and include rolling hills, shady stretches, greenways, country roads, and sections along East Main Street homes. The event is described as scenic and community-focused, with volunteers positioned along well-marked routes.
Race amenities and services include professional chip timing using the MyLaps system, free professional photos after the race, a unique commemorative finisher medal for registered participants, and overall and age group awards. All registrants receive a complimentary race shirt if they register by April 26, 2026; a shirt fee applies after that deadline. The event is the official race of the White Squirrel Festival and is held alongside a free community celebration with live music, children’s activities, craft vendors, and local downtown shopping.
A virtual race option is offered for participants unable to attend in person; virtual runners receive shirt and finisher items by mail. Roads are open to traffic on some sections, and stroller use may require moving on and off greenways and sidewalks. The event partners with a local foundation that offers needs-based scholarships to help Western North Carolina youth and adults access sporting events and related expenses.
