Event Format
The Pleasant Ridge Backyard Ultra is an endurance event. The format requires participants to run a 4.167-mile lap every hour, on the hour. Runners continue this cycle until they can no longer complete a lap within the hour.
If a runner fails to finish a lap or returns after the hour, they receive a DNF (Did Not Finish). The winner is the last person who completes a full lap. All runners start together with no separate categories.
Venue & Logistics
The event takes place at the Pleasant Ridge Camp and Retreat Center in Marietta, South Carolina. Camping is offered for registered runners and their support crew in an assigned 10x10 foot space. Restrooms are available, but showers are not. Open flames or grills are not permitted.
Early bib pickup and aid station setup is available the day before the race. Runners are assigned their 10x10 aid station area. A runner information meeting is held before the start.
Course & Entry
The course uses sections of the JFA trail and paved paths. The entry fee is $85.00. Every participant receives a DNF camp mug, while the overall winner receives a finisher award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
