BraveWalk - Step Into Her Story
The BraveWalk is a community gathering held on September 12, 2026, at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event raises awareness and funds to support BraveWorks programs that assist women moving from trauma toward stability and independence. Funds support artisans and programs such as trauma-informed care, workforce development training, and ongoing support services.
The event page lists $24,500 raised toward a $50,000 goal, representing 49% of the target. Five participants are listed on the event roster. Several corporate sponsors are named, including Coca-Cola Consolidated, First National Bank, Park National Bank, Force Management, Truliant Federal Credit Union, and Sklya Credit Union.
Registration includes access to the walk, event programming, and a special edition BraveWalk branded t-shirt for adults. Parking is available on-site at the Whitewater Center with a fee of $13 paid directly to the venue. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine; organizers will communicate any important updates if weather conditions change.
The BraveWalk is described as family-friendly. Dog-friendly guidelines note that dogs receive a bandana, must be leashed (no retractable leashes), should be up-to-date on vaccinations, and remain under control; owners are responsible for clean-up and for monitoring their pets for heat or stress. Fundraising and team participation are encouraged as part of the event structure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
