Brathay 10in10
The Brathay 10in10 is a stage race that stages ten marathons over ten consecutive days around the Windermere Marathon course. The route circles Windermere, England's largest lake, and uses Brathay Hall in Ambleside as the event centre and base for accommodation, recovery and race operations.
The event began in 2007 as the first organised 10 marathons in 10 days stage race. Participants meet in early January for a training weekend that includes a fully supported marathon option, sessions on training, preparation and fundraising, and a nutrition session delivered by the event team. During the main event, runners receive daily medical, rehabilitation and therapy support from sports rehabilitation students and an on course support team. A consultant sport and exercise medicine physician is part of the medical provision. Event partners include a nutrition supplier and a retail partner, and volunteers support race operations and on course assistance.
Finishing the ten days earns automatic membership of the Brathay 10in10 Club. To date, 174 runners have completed the challenge, making 249 total completions including repeat participants. Entries for the next edition are managed in advance and entries close Monday 31st August 2026. The event also raises funds to support Brathay’s work with children and young people.
