Brathay 10in10
The Brathay 10in10 is the original 10 marathons in 10 days stage race, first held in 2007. The challenge consists of running ten laps of the official Windermere Marathon course around Windermere, England's largest lake. The event is based at Brathay Hall in Ambleside, which provides the start and finish lines and a base for accommodation, race recovery and rest over the ten days. Entries close Monday 31st August 2026.
Participants have access to event-led training and sports support before and during the challenge. A training weekend in early January includes a fully supported marathon option, sessions on fundraising, training and nutrition, and on-site accommodation and food. During the event there is on-course support, daily therapy and sports rehabilitation provision from university students supervised by clinical staff, and input from a consultant in sport and exercise medicine. Commercial partners provide nutrition and retail support. Runners receive pre, during and post race nutrition and dedicated therapy to aid recovery across the ten days.
Runners who complete all ten laps automatically join the Brathay 10in10 Club. Since the event began, 174 individual runners have completed the challenge, accounting for 249 total Brathay 10in10 finishes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
