Brathay 10in10

Brathay 10in10 is a stage race that reprises the original format of ten marathons in ten days. The route is ten laps of the official Windermere Marathon course around Windermere, England's largest lake. The event base is at Brathay Hall in Ambleside, providing the start and finish area and on-site accommodation and catering across the race period. The event is scheduled for May 2027 and entries close Monday 31 August 2026, 13:00.

Participants receive structured preparation and on-event support. A training weekend in early January brings the team together with an overnight stay at Brathay Hall, a fully supported marathon option, and sessions on fundraising, training, nutrition and medical matters, including a remote nutrition session. During the ten days in May runners are provided with sponsored kit, pre, during and post race nutrition, daily therapy and injury management, and on-course support.

Support for the event includes sports rehabilitation students from a local university, a consultant sport and exercise medicine physician, nutrition partners and a retail partner, together with event volunteers and Brathay Trust staff. The event raises funds for Brathay’s work with children and young people.

Since 2007 the event has produced a Brathay 10in10 Club for finishers; to date 174 runners have completed the challenge, accounting for 249 total Brathay 10in10 finishes including repeat participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
