BRAT - Eastern Triathlon Series Race 1 (Maroubra)
This event is the first race in the BRAT Eastern Triathlon Series, held at Heffron Park and Des Renford Leisure Centre in Maroubra. It features adult sprint and enticer triathlon races and a kids race for participants aged 10 to 14. The series includes additional race dates later in the season.
Races and target ages:
- Sprint (15+): 700m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Enticer (15+): 200m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
- Kids (10–14): 100m swim, 4km bike, 1km run
Prizes are awarded for the top three finishers in men's and women's categories for each ETS race, with cash prizes of $150 for first, $100 for second, and $50 for third. Kids receive prizes for top places.
Key race rules and notes: events follow Triathlon Australia policy and competition rules; the bike leg is non-drafting with a 10 metre draft zone; headphones are not permitted; helmets and shoes are required for bike and run. Swim waves are organized by swim pace with Wave A for swimmers under 13 minutes and Wave B for slower swimmers. Heffron Park is a public area and participants should take care for their own and others safety.
