Event overview
BRAT - Eastern Triathlon Series Race 2 is a triathlon event organised by Bondi Running and Triathlon (BRAT) Club Inc. It takes place at Heffron Park and Des Renford Leisure Centre in Maroubra, Australia on 7 December 2025. The race series is run by volunteers as a not-for-profit and includes race registration, timing chip collection, a mandatory race briefing for all adult athletes, and a presentation after the races.
Races and distances
The event features three race categories with age limits:
- Sprint (from 15 years): Swim 700 m (14 laps), Bike 20 km (10 laps), Run 5 km (4 laps). Total 25.7 km.
- Enticer (from 15 years): Swim 200 m (4 laps), Bike 10 km (5 laps), Run 2.5 km (2 laps). Total 12.7 km.
- Kids (10-14 years): Swim 100 m (2 laps), Bike 4 km (2 laps), Run 1 km (2 laps). Total 5.1 km.
Swim waves are organised by pace. The bike course is 2 km per lap and the primary run course is 1.25 km per lap; the kids run is 500 m per lap.
Rules and prizes
The event is governed by Triathlon Australia competition rules. Key points: helmets and shoes are mandatory on the bike and run, this is a non-drafting event with a 10 metre draft zone, and race officials may issue time penalties or disqualification for rule breaches. Wetsuits are optional for practice swims but wetsuit wearers are not eligible for podium places. Prize money is offered for top three men and women at each ETS race.
