Sydney Trail Half Marathon Summer Edition
The Sydney Trail Half Marathon Summer Edition takes place at Lake Parramatta Reserve, a natural conservation area in Sydney. This trail running event features a single-lap course that explores a variety of terrains, including technical single tracks, waterfront trails, and fire trails. Participants run beneath eucalypt canopies and pass by scenic landmarks such as a picturesque waterfall and lakeside views.
The event offers a single distance:
- 21 km half marathon with approximately 386 meters of elevation gain and loss.
The course is designed with a mix of challenges, from narrow technical paths to open fire trails where runners can maintain a steady stride. Due to the route entering Hunts Creek Reserve, participants will encounter several road crossings, all of which are managed by event marshals. A strict four-hour cutoff time is in place for all participants.
This is a cupless event, meaning runners must carry their own hydration equipment, such as a vest, bottle, or flask. Mandatory gear is required for all athletes to ensure safety in areas where medical support may take longer to reach. Required items include a fully charged mobile phone, a compression bandage, and a minimum water carrying capacity of 500 ml.
On-course support includes an aid station located at the 9.5 km and 14.5 km marks, providing water, energy drinks, fruit, and sweets. Participants receive a premium running singlet, free race photos, and a finishers medal. The finish area at Lake Parramatta features restroom facilities, a bag drop, a post-race BBQ, and access to a swimming area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
