Bradbury Breaker
The Bradbury Breaker is a 9 mile trail race held on the Bradbury Mountain State Park trail network in Pownal, ME. The course consists of two laps of a hilly, technical single track loop that includes climbs, rocks, and roots. The race uses the park trail system that is open to the public.
The race cutoff time is 3 hours, which corresponds to a 20 minute per mile pace. Event rules ask runners to yield to other trail users, stay on the marked course, pack out any litter, and avoid wearing headphones so they can hear volunteers and other trail users. Dogs are not permitted on the course or at the event.
The event is organized by Trail Monster Running, a nonprofit run by unpaid volunteers. Registration for the Bradbury Mountain Trail Race Series is limited to 140 runners per race; there is no wait list, no bib transfers, and no same day registration. Bib pickup and check in are scheduled on race morning and T shirts are distributed at pickup. Runners who complete three races in the series within the cutoff times earn a Bad Ass Hoodie, and the overall series champions receive additional prizes including a handcrafted Adirondack chair.
