Boxing Day Pudding Run : Whitley Bay, 26 December 2025
The Boxing Day Pudding Run is an annual 5 km road fun run organised by North Shields Polytechnic Club with Woodlawn School. The course runs along the Whitley Bay coastline and finishes next to the Helipad, where participants receive a Christmas or sponge pudding. The event is in its 39th year. Proceeds are split between North Shields Polytechnic Club and Woodlawn School, with a donation to North Tyneside Mountain Rescue. Christmas costumes are encouraged. The event is family friendly, open to a wide range of abilities, and pushchairs are permitted; dogs, scooters and electric bikes are not allowed on the course.
Course, entry and facilities
Distance: 5 kilometres. Course type: road; profile: undulating; laps: 1. Entry limit 1,500 (remaining places listed as 1,330). The event is suitable for wheelchairs. Entry fees are Adult £15.00 and Children £10.00. On-the-day entry is not available; registration must be completed before 24 December 2025 at 11:59pm. Race numbers will be available from Whitley Bay Comrades Club on Tuesday 16 December 2025 between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.
