2026 Boxing Day 5k & 10k
The Boxing Day event takes place at Wakefield Park in Annandale, Virginia. The race features two primary distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course is primarily a paved trail through the woods, with a small section of light gravel and dirt path. The route is flat with minimal hills and follows an out-and-back format towards Americana Park. Participants can choose to participate in person or select a virtual run option if they cannot attend on the race date. Walkers and strollers are permitted on the course.
Registered runners receive a technical drifit event shirt, a finisher's medal, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by mid-December, after which they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The event includes an awards ceremony for the top three overall men and women, as well as the top two finishers in several age categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over.
The race is held in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, or shine. Restrooms are available inside the nearby RECenter. The event supports Warriors Ethos, an organization that assists service members, veterans, and their families with career planning and professional development.
