2026 Boxing Day 5k & 10k
The event offers two distances:
- 5k
- 10k
The course is a mostly paved out-and-back on the trails at Wakefield Park that runs toward Americana Park. There is a short section of light gravel dirt path and the route is mostly flat with minimal hills. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and they also count toward the Fall Series. Back of the Pack is a series geared toward participants who average a slower pace and allows runners of similar pace to earn series points.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed before the stated deadline; additional shirts are ordered on a first-come, first-served basis for later registrants. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered. Water stations are placed along the courses: the 10k has three stations at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.10, and 4.65; the 5k has one station at about mile 1.55. Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are at the Wakefield RECenter.
