Event details

Bowland Trail Half 2026 takes place on Saturday 10 January 2026 at Slaidburn Village Hall in Slaidburn, Clitheroe, BB7 3ES. The event is organised by Bowland Ultra. Entries open 1 July 2025 and close 1 January 2026. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. Entry fees are listed as £29 affiliated / £34 unaffiliated, rising from 1 November 2025 to £35 affiliated / £39 unaffiliated. The event is raising money for local foodbanks. Course and logistics

The route starts and finishes at Slaidburn and is an unmarked mixed course covering shooting tracks, vehicle tracks, flowing trails, technical singletrack, road and sections of bog. The distance is approximately 13 miles with about 2,000 ft of ascent. Runners follow a written route description and are given a map; a GPX route file is available on the race website and is sent in the final race email. Marshals will be present at key points but not at every junction. There is a mandatory kit list for safety. The event notes winter conditions are possible in January, including rain, ice, snow, high winds and frost. Runners receive a finish-line meal and a memento.
