Bowland Trail Half 2027
The Bowland Trail Half is an unmarked, mixed surface trail event that starts and finishes in Slaidburn. The route is roughly 13 miles (approx) long with about 2,000 ft of ascent. It includes vehicle tracks that can be fast and runnable, flowing singletrack, short road sections, and boggy climbs. A GPX route file is available and participants are provided with a written route description and a map for navigation.
Marshals will be present at key locations for safety and direction, but they will not be at every junction. A mandatory kit list is required because the event takes place in January and conditions may include rain, ice, snow, high winds, and frost. A race briefing is given before the event. Participants receive a finish line meal and a memento.
Minimum entry age is 18. Entry fees apply and a discounted rate exists for members of certain affiliated running organisations. Refund and transfer rules are defined with deadlines and associated admin or percentage fees. The event raises money for Morecambe Bay foodbank. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
