Bowland Trail Half
The event on 9th January 2027 in Lancaster, Lancashire comprises an ultra distance and a shorter trail half. Two main options are listed:
- 41 miles with 6,131 ft ascent
- 13 miles with 2,021 ft ascent
The ultra is an unmarked mixed route. Course surfaces include vehicle tracks, flowing trails, road sections, icy stretches and boggy climbs. Some sections are described as fast and runnable on vehicle tracks while other sections involve sustained climbs and wet ground.
The trail half follows the same start and end sections as the ultra, providing a shorter course that covers part of the same terrain and conditions. The event takes place in winter conditions and is presented as a way to experience winter trail racing on the same course.
