Bowland Trail Half 2027
This event takes place on Saturday 9th January 2027 in Slaidburn, Clitheroe, with the start and finish at Slaidburn Village Hall. The route is an unmarked mixed course that combines vehicle tracks, flowing singletrack, sections of road and boggy climbs. The course length is roughly 13 miles (approx) with about 2,000 ft of ascent.
Runners follow a written route description and are provided with a map. A GPX route file is available on the race website and is distributed in final event communications. Marshals are positioned at key points but are not present at every junction. There is a mandatory kit list for safety. Because the event is in January in the north, expected conditions can include rain, ice, snow, high winds and frost.
Entries open on 13 June 2026 and close on 31 December 2026. The entry fee is £34 for the first 40 entries and £39 thereafter. Affiliation with recognised running organisations can reduce the fee by £4. Minimum age for entry is 18.
Refunds and transfers are possible until 1 November minus administrative fees. Refunds only are available until 1 December minus 50 percent. From 1 December no refunds are offered but transfers to another runner are allowed with administrative fees, and from 1 January no changes to the entry list can be made. Participants may purchase third party XCover insurance for potential refund claims.
Finishers receive a meal and a memento. The event raises funds for local foodbanks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
