Bowers Heritage Day 5k
The Bowers Heritage Day 5k is a recurring sports event held in Bowers, Delaware. The race route is located on Clifton Cubbage Drive and supports the Bowers Beach Maritime Museum. This event offers opportunities for both runners and walkers to participate in a structured environment.
The event features two primary categories for participants:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 5k Competitive Walking
The competitive walking category is reserved strictly for participants who walk the entire duration of the course; running or jogging is not permitted in this specific division. The event utilizes the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System to provide chip timing for all participants. Results are made available online during the race, with a complete list of finishes published after the event concludes.
Awards are presented based on various categories. Top finisher awards for overall male and female runners, as well as masters, are determined by gun time. Age group awards for the top three male and female participants are provided for 10-year increments, ranging from ages 13 and under to 70 and over. Additionally, awards are given to the top three male and female competitive walkers.
Participants receive amenity items including unisex t-shirts and access to post-race refreshments and music. Due to insurance liability, dogs are not permitted at the event. Registration is available on the day of the race, though bibs are non-transferable and no refunds are issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
