About the race
Bowers Heritage Day 5k is a community run and walk scheduled for October 11, 2026 in Frederica, Delaware at Clifton Cubbage Drive. The event benefits the Bowers Beach Maritime Museum and offers day of race registration.
Distances include:
- 5K
- Competitive Walking 5K (walk the entire course; no running or jogging allowed)
Participants receive unisex tee shirts. Post race refreshments and music are provided. Timing is by chip using the MYLAPS BibTag system operated by R2R Timing, and results are posted online during the event with full results available after the race. A course map is available for the route.
Awards are given by category: top overall male and female and top male and female masters are scored by gun time, while other age groups are scored by chip net time. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in 10 year ranges from 13 and under through 70 and over. Separate awards are presented to the top three male and female walkers.
