Event overview
The 14th Annual Delaware Tech Chocolate Run 5k takes place on February 14, 2026, at the Delaware Technical Community College - Charles L. Terry Jr. Campus in Dover, DE. Proceeds support the Terry Campus Student Emergency Fund, and a portion of registration fees supports Stop Soldier Suicide. Participation is limited to the first 700 registered runners and walkers. Registration fees are listed at $40, with a $45 option available on race day. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received before January 29, 2026. No refunds on registrations.
Race format and logistics
- 5k run - USATF-certified single loop course.
- 5k walk
- Virtual 5k
- Competitive walking 5k - participants must walk the entire race.
- Kiddie K - free for children under 10.
Early packet pickup is available on February 12 and February 13 at the ETB Building, Del-One Conference Center breakout rooms. Race-day registration and packet pickup are available up to event capacity. Awards include overall male and female champions, overall male and female masters winners, top three finishers in 5-year age groups (10 and under through 70 and over), top three male and female walkers, and special awards for the best Valentine-themed costumes. Top finisher awards are scored by gun time; all other age groups are scored by chip (net) time. After the event there is an awards ceremony and hot chocolate and chocolate treats prepared by the Terry Campus culinary arts program.
