Bournemouth International Triathlon
Bournemouth International Triathlon is held at West Cliff Gardens in Bournemouth, Dorset. The event stages sea swims from the blue flag beach on the west side of Bournemouth Pier, a bike route that travels out of Bournemouth toward the market town of Ringwood near the edge of The New Forest, and a run that finishes along the promenade back onto the sand.
Routes offered include:
- Sprint Distance Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Standard Distance Triathlon: 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run
- Aquathlon Sprint: 750m swim, 5km run
- Aquabike Standard: 1500m swim, 40km bike
The organiser is Challenging Events Ltd. The event information notes lifeguarding and course marshalling are provided for the swim and course, and that volunteers carry out tasks such as car parking, registration, marshalling on course and running water stops. Volunteers receive a high visibility vest and are issued a free entry code as a thank you.
